William J Mercer, 74 years old of New Ross, IN, died Sunday, April 26, 2009 at St. Clare Medical Center.

He was born August 29, 1934 in Hendricks Co, IN, son of the late John B. Mercer and Marjorie M. Martin Mercer.

He married Donna Jackson on April 4, 1959. She survives.

He was a member of Old Union Church of Christ, a 50 year member of F. & A.M. 200 Hazelrigg and the Ladoga Lions Club.

He was a farmer in Montgomery County and Hendricks County.

Surviving are his three son, Mark Mercer and Mike Mercer both of New Ross and Max (Tonya) Mercer of Jeffersonville, grandchildren, Morgan Mercer, Allison Mercer, and Nathan Mercer, and brother, Darol Mercer of Jamestown.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Melvin Mercer.

Friends will be received Tuesday, April 28, 2:00-8:00 p.m. at the Porter Funeral Home, Jamestown, Indiana.

Services will be held at Porter Funeral Home, Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. with Lowell Spaulding & Derrick Jackson officiating.

Interment will follow in the Old Union Cemetery, Jamestown, Indiana.
