Virgil N. Doub, 87, of North Salem, passed away at Hendricks Regional Health in Danville on Tuesday, March 18, 2008. Born November 28, 1920, in Johnson County, he was the son of Virgil E. and Elva (Sefton) Doub. He was a graduate of New Winchester High School. On September 27, 1940, he married Jane (Robbins) Doub, who survives. Virgil was a farmer his entire life. He was a member of the New Winchester Missionary Church.
Virgil is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Tony N. and Susan L. Doub of Rye, Colorado, D. Michael and Sharon L. Doub of North Salem, Indiana; daughter and son-in-law, Lois J. and Harold Robb of Rockville, Indiana; twelve grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; sisters, Lucille Lancaster of Canyon City, Colorado and Sarah Shrum of Whiteland, Indiana; brother, Clarence Doub of North Salem, Indiana. He was preceded in death by one brother, John Doub of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Visiting hours will be Thursday, March 20, 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Porter Funeral Home in North Salem. Services will be held Friday, March 21, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Porter Funeral Home in North Salem. Burial will be at the New Winchester Cemetery.
