Thelma Audrey Bowman, 101 years old, formerly of Lizton, IN, died Thursday, October 8, 2009 at her daughter Beth and son-in-law Ed Swain's home in Kokomo.

She was born September 12, 1908 in Waynetown, IN, daughter of the late Rev. Vernie Fruitts and Leota Bennett Fruitts.

She married Jesse P. Bowman on September 3, 1933. He preceded her in death.

She was the oldest member of the Lizton United Methodist Church.

She was a homemaker and farm wife.

Surviving are her daughters, Maribeth (Ed) Swain and Loretta Gregg, both of Kokomo, son, Jay P (Patti Jo) Bowman of Columbus, IN, 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse P. Bowman, sister, Lois Shea, son-in-law, Jim Gregg and great-grandson, Lance Cpl James E. Swain.

Friends will be received Monday, October 12, 12:00-2:00 p.m. at the Porter Funeral Home, Jamestown, Indiana.

Services will be held at Porter Funeral Home, Monday, October 12, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. with Garland Kincaid officiating.

Interment will follow in the Lizton K of P Cemetery, Lizton, Indiana.
