Sonja Rose Martin, 80 of North Salem, IN, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2019 in St. Vincent Seton Hospital.

She was born October 8, 1938 in Terre Haute, IN, daughter of the late William Campbell and the late Norma Helen (Landes) Divine. She married David A. Martin on December 10, 1955.

She was a member of the Jamestown Church of Christ and the Red Hat Society. She was a loving mother, a great wife and friend. Sonja enjoyed riding motorcycles, painting and raising birds.

She is survived by her sons, David (Lynn) Martin, Jr, and Russell Martin, daughters, Maribeth (Edward) Bender, Leigh Ann (Robert) Staton and Jerilyn (Edward) Hairston, siblings, Jackie Joe Divine, Jan Ray Divine and Jayne Ann Nelson, 18 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter, Ginger Rose Johnson and brothers, James Divine & Douglas Campbell.

Family and friends will gather Friday, April 5, 2019, 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. at the Porter Funeral Home, Jamestown, Indiana. Sonja will be laid to rest in the Fairview Cemetery, North Salem, IN.
