Mirelez, Solomon Age 71 of Lakeville, Minnesota passed away Jan. 13, 2022.  Survived by his sons, David (Alison) Mirelez of Edina, Minnesota and Daniel (Darla) Mirelez of Slidell, Louisiana.  Grandchildren include Lyllian, Julia, Emerson, Elizabeth, Petra, and Matthew Mirelez.  Siblings include Maria (Jim) MacKinnon, Fernando (Elena) Mirelez, Diane Patino, and Mario Mirelez.  Preceded in death by his parents, Solomon and Petra Mirelez.

Born in the southern Texas Rio Grande Valley, his parents migrated to the small farming community of Advance, Indiana, where Sol grew up and graduated from Granville Wells High School in 1968.  He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Utah State University in 1973 and started his career in the aerospace industry with Sperry Flight Systems in Phoenix, Arizona.  A long-time resident of Prior Lake, Minnesota, he retired from UTC Aerospace Systems Burnsville in 2013 after 35 years as the Director of Marketing and 15 years as a fitness instructor at Lifetime Fitness to travel and spend time with family.  He also enjoyed cycling and racing in triathlons – in 2005, he was an Ironman Wisconsin Finisher.  He was loved and admired for his charisma and prevailing optimism.

Sol will be most remembered for how he and his family lived the American dream.  From his father's humble beginnings as a migrant worker after serving in the Army during WWII, the foundation was laid for work ethic, education, and community service.  Sol proudly embraced his Mexican-American heritage and maximized the opportunities this groundwork offered.  This passion shaped his family and carries on in those within his far-reaching sphere of influence.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Old Union Cemetery in Jamestown, Indiana.
