Richard D Hiland, 93 of Cloverdale, IN, passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at the Putnam County Hospital.

He was born August 10, 1925 in Boone County, IN, son of the late Emmert and Rowena (Arnold) Hiland. Richard was married to Linda's mom, Doris Hughes, for 42 years before her passing. He was then married to Martha Paris for 12 years until she passed away.

He retired from Union Carbide after 40 years of employment.

He is survived by his daughter, Linda I. (Fred) Smith of Cloverdale, grandchildren, Jason (Missy) Smith, and Stacey (JD) Clampitt, great-grandchildren, Eli & Eva Smith and Bayli & Addison Clampitt.

In addition to Doris and Martha, he was preceded in death by sons, Dennis M. and James D. Hiland, brother, Phillip Hiland, sister, Sara (Hiland) Eads.

Family and friends will gather Saturday, August 25, 2018, 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the Porter Funeral Home, North Salem, Indiana. There will be a private graveside service at the New Maysville Cemetery.
