Rebecca Jean Shaw, 72, of Crawfordsville, Indiana passed away Thursday, July 16, 2026, at Franciscan Health Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born January 6, 1954, in Lebanon, Indiana, a daughter of the late Henry H. and Hazel (Maddox) Benge.

On September 12, 1971, she married Wayne Shaw in Boone County, Indiana; he survives.

Rebecca graduated from New Ross High School and worked for many years as a substitute teacher at Western Boone.

She attended New Ross Church and Mace Community Church. Rebecca was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister who enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband, Wayne Shaw; son, Sam (Michelle Phillips) Shaw; granddaughter, Cheyenne Shaw; and brother, James (Marge) Benge.

In addition to her parents, Rebecca was preceded in death by her brothers, Cecil, Samuel, Donald, and Virgil Benge and sisters, Martha McCullough and Mary Riley.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Porter and Hunt Funeral Home, 315 W. Main Street, in Jamestown, Indiana. Visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will follow services at New Ross Cemetery.
