Raymond Booker, 84, Roachdale, passed away peacefully at Hendricks Regional Hospital on Jan 25, 2009. He was born March 15, 1924 to Clarence & Edith Booker. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sandra Rae Bachert; sisters Vera Brewster & Maxine Carrington Ashcraft; brothers Donald, Dick, Lowell & Dan.
Raymond retired from General Motor Allison in 1977 after 30 years of working in skilled trades. He was also part owner of Booker's Red Dog in North Salem and he cut timber. He was also proud to be a member of the Murat Shrine, F & A.M. 126 N.S. and the Scottish Rite..
He will be dearly missed by his wife of 61 years, Mildred (Martin) Booker, daughter & son-in-law Pam & Ron Saunders, granddaughter Danielle King, great grand-daughters Kira & Kasandra King, grandson, David Bachert, sisters Gladys Lavonne Abel & Esther Joan Doan and brother George Harold.
Visitation will be at Porter Funeral Home, North Salem, from noon-2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 29, 2009 with the funeral following at 2:00 p.m.
Burial will be at Roachdale Cemetery.
