Porter Cooper, 82 years old of Jamestown, IN, went to be home with his Lord on Tuesday, April 27, 2010.

He was born March 29, 1928 in Adair County, KY, son of the late Robert Madison and Hazel Sapp Cooper.

He married Martha Lee Fugate on April 26, 1947. She survives.

He was a charter member of New Hope Baptist Church, Jamestown.

He retired from Bryant Air Conditioning Manufacturing Co.

Surviving are his son, Billy J. Cooper and daughter, Joan Cooper both of Jamestown, brother, Harding (Elsie) Cooper, sister, Lucille (Jamie) Jarvis, and nephews, Clayton & Jerry Cooper, Donnie & Gary Jarvis, and Steve & Ronnie Cooper.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Chester Cooper, sister, Vina Miller, and 1 nephew, Mike Jarvis.

Friends will be received Thursday, April 29, 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Porter Funeral Home, Jamestown, Indiana.

Services will be held at Porter Funeral Home, Friday, April 30, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with Brother Wally Beam & Brother Roger Popplewell officiating.

Interment will follow in the Lincoln Memory Gardens, Whitestown, Indiana.
