Norma Jean Smith, 81 of Avon, IN, passed away Thursday, December 06, 2018.

She was born November 9, 1937 in Martinsville, IN, daughter of Wendell Eugene and Monta Sarah (Lewis) Fowler. She married Gary Milton Smith, former Mr. Indiana, in 1961.

She enjoyed photography and was the president of the Eli Lily Camera Club. She played saxophone, enjoyed sewing, was a member of the Eli Lily Variety Club, was an exhibitor at the State Fair and ran the Mini Marathon for 15 years.

Norma is survived by her brother, Clyde (Beverly) Fowler, sister, Mary Lou (Larry) Morgan and 6 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her sister, Carolyn Sue Fowler, and her parents.

Family and friends will gather Saturday, December 8, 2018, 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. at Wilson St. Pierre, Greenwood, IN. Norma will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery, North Salem, IN.
