Nancy Ellen Tarver, 74, passed away Saturday, February 3, 2024, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born September 14, 1949, in Cincinnati, Ohio, a daughter of the late Clifford Eugene and Barbara S. (Gelts) Proctor.

She was united in marriage to James "Jim" L. Tarver; he preceded her in death in 2012.

Nancy was a 1968 graduate of Northwest High School in Indianapolis.  She has been employed by Ortho Indy, Avon schools as a bus aid, and she was a waitress at Bell in Indianapolis.

Nancy enjoyed playing cards, board games and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her son, Ryan Tarver of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Madiline and Everett Tarver; brother, Robert "Bob" Bright of Angier, North Carolina; sister, Diane Wahl of Indianapolis; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her daughter, and stepfather, Jon Jean Proctor.

Funeral Services are planned for 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 12, 2024, at Porter and Hunt Funeral Home & Crematory, 315 West Main Street, in Jamestown, Indiana. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the time of services. Interment will follow at I.O.O.F Cemetery in Jamestown.

Memorials may be directed in her memory to the charity of the donor's choice.
