Nancy Jean Hoskins, passed away February 12, 2009 at her daughter's home near Jamestown, Indiana. She was born on May 20, 1946 in Kansas City, Kansas to Andrew Henry Ayers and Beatrice Mae Dubes. Nancy graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis in 1964. After high school Nancy began her career as a typist at General Motors in Indianapolis. She met Leonard Lee Hoskins there and they married on February 19, 1971. They lived in the Jamestown/Advance area all of their married life.
Nancy attended Harvestime Fellowship Church, Jamestown, Indiana, for many years. She was a fun-loving, devoted mother who moved to the country after marrying to provide a firm foundation for her husband and children. She enjoyed worship, family, animals, reading, crafts, cooking, gardening, sunshine and relished hard farm work despite her city upbringing.
Preceding her death was her father, Andrew Henry Ayers of Merciline, Missouri in February 1983, and her beloved husband of 37 years, Leonard Lee Hoskins on May 25, 2008.
Surviving are her mother Beatrice Mae Robbins of Lebanon, Indiana; a half-brother Clisten Ray Wells Jr. (wife, Karen) of Indianapolis; daughter Julie Dyan Gilbert (husband Marvin Dale) of rural Jamestown, Indiana; son, Steven Lee Hoskins of South Carolina; 2 step-daughters, Denise Joan Kennedy (husband Tommy) of Jamestown, Indiana and Debra Jane Reece of Georgetown, Kentucky. Also 3 grandchildren, TerraLee Autumn Tinder, Tia Marie Gilbert and Marvin Dale Gilbert Jr. 4 step grandchildren and 3 step great-grandchildren.
To all who knew her there was no greater example. Nancy will always be in our hearts. Services will be held at Porter Funeral Home, Monday, February 16, 2009 at 11:00am will be at Porter Funeral Home, Jamestown Indiana with Pastor Art Thomas officiating.
Friends will be received 3:00 to 6:00 Sunday, February 15 at the Porter Funeral Home, Jamestown, Indiana.
Interment will follow in the Jamestown I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Jamestown, Indiana.
