Miriam Jocelyn Whitecotton, 93 years old of Brownsburg, IN, died Saturday, August 29, 2009 after a 3 month illiness in Westside Garden Village.
She was born July 18, 1916 in Jamestown, Indiana,
daughter of the late Joseph M. Proctor and the late Mary Ethel Alley Proctor.
She married John Patrick (Shahan) Whitecotton on December 26, 1936 at the St. Benard Catholic Church in Crawfordsville. He preceeds her in death.
She was a graduate of Jamestown High School in 1934.
She was a member of the St. Malachy Catholic Church in Brownsburg.
She owned and operated Miriams in Brownsburg for over 25 years..
Surviving are Son, Joseph (Judith) Whitecotton of Norman, Oklahoma and grandchildren, Gordon Whitecotton of Brownsburg, Lisa Waldrup of Arizona and Meg Bagnall of California. Also surviving are 7 great grandchildren..
Friends will be received noon until 2:00pm Tuesday, September 1, at the Porter Funeral Home, Jamestown, Indiana.
Services will be held at Porter Funeral Home, Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at 2:00pm.
Entombment will follow in the Jamestown I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Jamestown, Indiana.
