Obituary

Mr. Marvin Lewis Bartlett, 90, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at home in Lebanon with his loving family by his side. He was born in Acton, Indiana on August 2, 1931; a son of the late Otis and Mabel (Wright) Bartlett.

He was a 1950 graduate of Franklin Township High School.  On July 14, 1951, he married the love of his life Dorothy A. (Denger) Bartlett. She survives and they had shared 70 loving years together.

Marvin enjoyed restoring and driving antique cars. He and his longtime friend, Elton (Bud Newhart), restored two 1931 Model A Fords and were members of the Mid Hoosier A's. Together, they enjoyed touring in the A's with the club.  He also enjoyed working with wood, listening to country music and playing his guitars. He had been a Deacon and a long time Trustee at Old Union Church in Jamestown.  Marvin was a devoted and kind man who loved his family dearly.

Survivors include his wife: Dorothy Bartlett of Lebanon; children, Teresa (David) Bartlett-Dean, Pamela (John) Sims, Nola (fiancé, Daniel Bontrager) Bartlett; grandsons, Benjamin E. Hopson and Levi J. Bartlett, along with several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Marvin was preceded in death by a son, Rex Alan Bartlett; brother, Charles "Bud" Bartlett and sister, Marjorie June Karibo.

Funeral Services are to be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Old Union Church, 5681 South 500 West, Jamestown, Indiana 46147. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the church in Jamestown with burial at Acton Cemetery in Acton, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Old Union Church in Jamestown, Indiana. Porter and Hunt Funeral Home & Crematory, 315 West Main Street, Jamestown, Indiana 46147 has been entrusted with his arrangements.
