Martha Maxine Reeves, 88 years old of Lizton, IN, died Wednesday, April 9, 2008 in Danville Regional Rehab Center.
She was born October 7, 1919 in Milton, IN, daughter of the late Raymond H. Wolford and Fern Huffman Wolford.
She retired from Ford Motor Company as an Executive Secretary in 1984 after 25 years of service. Martha volunteered at Hendricks Regional Health for over 20 years. She was an active member of Professional Business Women's Association. She was a cancer survivor since 1985 who donated a great deal of time and support to the American Cancer Society.
She was an active member in the Order of Eastern Star. She was initiated into the Pittsboro chapter on February 28, 1977. She served as Marshall in 1978-1979 and Adah in 1979-1980. She was elected Associate Conductress in 1980. She served as Conductress 1981-1982 and Associate Matron in 1982-1983. Elected Worthy Matron in 1983, she served with Brother Myron Miller as Worthy Patron. She served as Prompter in 1984-1985 and was then elected Secretary in 1985. Sister Martha served as Secretary until her illness in 2005. Sister Martha was appointed Grand Representative to Mississippi in 1984 for a two-year term. She was active in the Grand Chapter Secretary/Treasurer's Association and Grand Representatives Association. Sister Martha gave 20 years of faithful service.
Surviving are half-brother, Dale Wolford, FL, half-sister, Irene Schooley, FL, and dear friends, Jim & Norma Sickles of Lizton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glendon Grant Reeves.
Friends will be received Friday, April 11, 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Porter Funeral Home, Jamestown, Indiana.
Services will be held at Porter Funeral Home, Saturday, April 12, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Dave Clayton officiating.
Interment will follow in the Lizton K of P Cemetery, Lizton, Indiana.
