Loraine Kay Ebaugh, 80, passed away Thursday, August 29, 2024, at home. She was born May 31, 1944, in Crawfordsville to Kenith and Laura (Graves) Shoaf.
She married Leslie Howard Ebaugh on October 6, 1962, in Advance. They had the joy of spending 59 wonderful years together.
Loraine attended school in Advance and graduated from Granville Wells High School in 1962. She was a member of the Advance North Christian Church, where she played the organ. Loraine was a cook at Granville Wells for many years. She was a 4-H leader for several years and then continued to be involved by helping her grandchildren throughout their 4-H years and entering into the open show where she won several champions. Loraine sold Avon for many years in the Jamestown area. She was known to many through her catering and cake decorating business, making many birthday and wedding cakes. One of her proudest moments was serving a meal at the Pan Am Games when they were held in Indianapolis. Loraine with her husband Leslie owned and operated New Ross Grocery from 1989 to 2000. To this day people ask for her famous, but still secret, coney sauce recipe.
