James Mallow Stewart "Cookie" 89 years old of Jamestown passed away Friday December 15 in the Witham Hospital in Lebanon. He was born June 3, 1917 in Jamestown the son of the late Arthur Burrell Stewart and the late Grace Mallow. He married Erma Glee Fisher in 1940 in Boone County. He co-owned Carney-Stewart Ford in Ladoga and had worked for Marman-Herrington and Allison's in Indianapolis. He was a WWII Army Veteran and a graduate of Jamestown High School in 1935. Surviving are daughters Jeannie Smith of Jamestown and Jennifer Huckstep of Lake Holiday, sons Rex Stewart of Jamestown and James R. Stewart of Elkhart, a sister Helen Clary of Brownsburg, 9 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren ands his beloved dog Gertie. He was prceded in death by his wife Erma and a daughter Janie. Visiting hours will be Sunday December 17, 2006 after 2:00pm at the Porter Funeral Home in Jamestown where the service will be Monday December 18, 2006 at 10:30am with Pastor Arthur Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in the Jamestown I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
