Obituary

James Byron Shaw died in his home, Sunday, October 21st, at 11:10 p.m.

"Jim" was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on April 22, 1921.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Naomi Beatrice Shaw, 3 sons, James Leon of Sebastian, FL, Michael Robert of Pompano Beach, FL, and John Barry of Louisville, KY, one daughter, Margaret Jane Shaw of Seattle, WA, as well as 5 grandsons, 7 granddaughters, and 17 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Shaw served in the Army during WWII where he was decorated with the Medal of Valor, Silver Star, Bronze Star and 2 Purple Hearts along with various other service ribbons. He retired in 1972 after serving in active duty reserves as a Master Sargeant.

After the war he became employed with Monon Railroad (later named the L & N) where he retired as an engineer in 1982. He was a 32 degree mason with the F & AM #511 out of West Lafayette.

He was a dedicated and loving husband and family man and a friend to all who knew him.

Visitation will be 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 27, 2007 at Porter Funeral Home, North Salem with services immediately following.

Interment will be at the Fairview Cemetery in North Salem following the service.
