James E "Jim" Brown, 67 years old of Jamestown, IN, died Thursday, March 19, 2009 at the Indiana Heart Institute.

He was born January 6, 1942 in Boone County, son of the late George W. Brown and Opal McHargue Brown.

He was a member of The Oasis Church of Jamestown.

He married Mildred Emberton on August 25, 1962. She survives.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He had a strong love for Christ and has now gone to join Him in heaven. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was an IU basketball fan and a NASCAR fan.

He worked for Allisons for 30 years, retiring in 1992.

Surviving are daughters, Debbra (David) West of Jamestown, Deanna (Jeff) Bruner of Lebanon and Angela (Troy) Popplewell of Dover, brother, Alan Brown of Advance, and grandchildren, Matthew West, Zachary West, Ryan West, Crystal Bruner, Danielle Bruner, Tiffany Bruner, Hannah Popplewell, Makayla Popplewell, and Treven Popplewell.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Benny Brown.

Friends will be received Sunday, March 22, 3:00-7:00 p.m. at the Porter Funeral Home, Jamestown, Indiana.

Services will be held at Porter Funeral Home, Monday, March 23, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with minister Tim Spanburg officiating.

Interment will follow in the Jamestown I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Jamestown, Indiana.
