Ivan F. Scott, 97 years old of Jamestown, IN, died Wednesday, April 1, 2009 in Homewood Health Campus.

Ivan was born March 14, 1912 in Thorntown, IN, son of the late Ira Scott and Estelle Owens Scott.

Ivan married Cathalene J. Bailey on August 29, 1937 by Rev. Andrew in the Jamestown Christian Church. She survives.

Ivan was a member of Jamestown Christian Church and the Masonic Lodge Jamestown. He was an avid sports fan.

Ivan worked for the Ohio Oil Company in Jamestown for 20 years. He also worked in maintenance in Plant 8 at Allison's for 25 years, retiring in 1977.

Surviving are his sons, John (Judy) F. Scott of rural Jamestown, Phil (Su-Esta) M. Scott of Boulder, CO, Don (Carol) J. Scott of Augusta, MI, daughter, Cathy J Minix of Brownsburg, IN, sister, Louise Proctor of Lebanon, brother, Ira (Patsy) F Scott of Lebanon, IN, 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, 8 step great-grandchildren.

Ivan was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters and 2 brothers.

Friends will be received Sunday, April 5, 3:00-8:00 p.m. at the Porter Funeral Home, Jamestown, Indiana.

Services will be held at Porter Funeral Home, Monday, April 6, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Larry Pierson officiating.

Pall bearers will be Rhett Scott and Zachary Scott, both of Muncie, IN, Jeffrey Scott of Canmore, Alberta, Canada, Ryan Minix of Plainfield, IN, Dan Frayer of Portage, MI, and Brad Scott of Lebanon, IN.

Interment will follow in the Jamestown I.O.O.F.Cemetery, Jamestown, Indiana.
