Mrs. Irene Lowe, 83, of New Ross, passed away June 28, 2017, at Williamsburg Health Care in Crawfordsville.
Irene was born on January 31, 1934, in Cedar Bluff, Virginia, the daughter of the late Walter Paris and Eva D. (Lester) Shrader. She married Melvin Lowe. He passed away in 1987.
Irene worked as a waitress at the New Ross steakhouse for 3 years and for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for 12 years. She was a member of the Lizton Baptist Church. Irene enjoyed cooking, reading, and going to flea markets. She loved her great-grandbabies and her cat Twinkie.
Survivors include her son Greg Lowe; her brother Ben Shrader of Bedford, VA; her daughter-in-law Rebecca Lowe; her grandchildren Jerry Siddons and Adam (Monica) Lowe; and her great-grandchildren Daschel and Huxley Lowe. Irene was preceded in death by her son Terry Lowe, her brother Buddy Shrader, and her sister Mildred Blankenship.
Graveside services will take place Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at 10 a.m. at New Ross cemetery in New Ross, IN with Pastor John Fletcher officiating. Porter Funeral Home, Jamestown, has been entrusted with handling the arrangements.
