Obituary

Lois "Imogene" Owen would like you to know that her work here is done and she's gone home to be with her Lord. Imogene, 93, from North Salem passed peacefully while sleeping Monday morning, 1/15/18.

Active in her church and known by her family and friends as the Prayer Warrior, her "retirement" is celebrated as we know she's rejoicing with those that went before her.

Imogene was born in 1924 to Warder and Mabel Huckstep. She married Perry Nathan Owen in 1942. After spending time in Chicago during his service in the Navy, they returned home and began their family: Cherie (Steve) Chastain - Greenwood, Gary (Sheila) Owen – North Salem, Brent (Diane) Owen – Oakley, IL, Phil (Trish) Owen – Baldwin, IL, and Cathy (Neil) Warner – Fort Wayne.

She is preceded in death by her husband Perry and sister, Wilma. She is survived by her two brothers, Lowell and Lyell Huckstep, her 5 children, 10 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at the Jamestown Christian Church. Viewing on Wednesday, 1/17 from 4-8 p.m. and funeral Thursday, 1/18 at 11 a.m. Imogene will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in North Salem, IN.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Active Grace, 2230 Stafford Road, Ste 115 Plainfield, IN 46168 or at activegrace.org.

Active Grace is a local nonprofit serving individuals, veterans, and families in need through education, job training, housing and development. We walk alongside them in their time of need through relationship programming and services in order to offer them a hand up instead of a hand out and to show them the love of Christ.
