Harwell F Banister, 71 years old of North Salem died Tuesday, February 28,2006 at Avon Health Care. He was born May 10, 1934 in Atlanta Ga. The son of the late E. Harry Banister and the late Mary Loy Bond. He was a member of the North Salem Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, Murat Shrine, St Rose Catholic Church in Milton Fl. He married Kay Kleiner in Ohio in 1964. He worked as an Engineer for Allisons in Speedway, retiring in 1989, and worked for Smith Trucking from 1991 to 2005. Surviving are daughter: Laurie Stine of Greencastle, daughter: Stephanie Creamean of Fillmore, daughter: Julie McCartney of Wasilla, AK and 5 grandchildren. He was a graduate of Grady High School in Atlanta Ga, in 1955 and a graduate of Georgia Tech in 1961. Friends will be received Friday 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Porter Funeral Home in North Salem, In. Services will be held at Porter Funeral Home, Saturday March 4, 2006 at 11:00AM. Inerment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, North Salem, In.
