George Francis Koval, 73, Jamestown, IN passed away Thursday evening in Witham Memorial Hospital, Lebanon, IN, born August 23rd, 1934 to George A. and Mary (Ninchak) Koval in Scranton, PA.
George spent 10 years as a Medical Service Specialist in the U.S.A.F. obtaining the rank of Airman 1st Class. While in the Military George met his wife of 48 years, Nannadean (Napier) Koval, she survives.
After leaving the U.S.A.F. the couple settled in central Indiana eventually moving to the Jamestown area. George retired from the United States Post Office after 29 years of service as a Letter Carrier. He was a gun and motorcycle enthusiast, a member of V.F.W. Post 98 and American Legion Post 113. George studied and became an advanced Master Gardener. He and his wife were actively involved with the Boone County Master Gardeners. He will be remembered for his volunteer work at the Tri Area Library in Jamestown, IN
George was a loving and devoted husband, father and brother whose presence will be sadly missed but not forgotten. Other survivors include his children Teresa Forsythe, Beverly Hardy, Regina Jackson (Robert) and George Andrew Koval (Nancy), his grandchildren, Joshua, Jeremy, Aimee, Cody, Devon and Spenser, his great-grandchildren Ethan and Isabella, his sisters Irene Gaughan, Mary Krenitsky, Mildred Jenkins, Joan Fletcher, Diane Kreig, Bernadette Teblum and his extended family.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 10, 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Porter Funeral Home, Jamestown, Indiana with Scripture prayer at 7:00 p.m.
Services will be held at Porter Funeral Home, Wednesday, June 11 at 11:00 a.m. with burial following in Lincoln Memory Gardens, Zionsville, IN.
The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions in his memory be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, P.O. Box 309, Lebanon, IN 46052.
