Mrs. Flora Jane Smoot, 71, passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at her home in Jamestown, Indiana. She was born April 24, 1950, in Pulaski County, Kentucky, one of nineteen children to the late Joda and Sara (Dick) Thompson.

On October 24, 1969, she was married to Willis Grant Smoot in Ringgold, Georgia. He preceded her in death on November 1, 2005.

Raised in Pulaski County, Kentucky, Flora attended Science Hill schools. After moving to Indiana, she worked as a CNA for English Nursing Home and Essex Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, both in Lebanon.

Flora enjoyed the outdoors, working in her yard, and tending to her flower garden.  She loved her companion, a cat named Cooper.  She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who loved her family deeply.

Survivors include her two daughters, Lisa K. (Kenneth) Hulley of Jamestown, Jenny L. (companion, Richard Scott) Smoot of Jamestown; adopted daughter, Dawn (companion, Tony Morales) Mancill of Jamestown; four grandchildren, Sandra Smith, Savannah Klyczek, Deene Gunsallus, Dionna Renteria; three great grandchildren; eighteen siblings; numerous nieces and nephews.

Private Graveside Services were held at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Jamestown, Indiana. Porter and Hunt Funeral Home & Crematory was entrusted with her arrangements. Memorials may be directed in her memory to the Boone County Cancer Society, 117 West Elm Street, Lebanon, Indiana 46052.
