Obituary

Douglas Vern King, 73 passed away October 25, 2019 at his residence. Douglas was born to the late Vern and Luvern (Roberson) King in Jesup, Georgia.

Douglas was a very outgoing, patriotic person with a wonderful sense of humor. He loved people. He graduated with a Master's degree from Free Will Bible College where he studied to become a minister, he also minored in drama and arts which he integrated in his pastoral work. After graduation Douglas pastored all over the United States and even parts of Canada. He was very devoted to the Lord, he pastored at Providence Christian Church in Montgomery County, Indiana up until June of 2019.

Douglas was a dedicated family man. He enjoyed spending every possible second he could with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He always attended any of his grandchildren's events or special occasions. Near the end of his life Douglas moved to his son and daughter in law's farm where he enjoyed spending time outdoors, with the animals and at the lake.

He is survived by his wife, Judith (Urseth) King, two children: Brian (Melissa) King and Andrea (Joseph III) Catlaw, siblings: Kenny (Connie) King and Sharon (Ken) Reddish. Douglas is also survived by six grandchildren: Mikinna King, Dylan King, Malachi Catlaw, Joseph Catlaw IV, Kiley Catlaw, and Matthew Catlaw. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Saturday November 2nd at Porter & St.Pierre Funeral & Cremation Services, 315 West Main Street Jamestown, IN 46147 at 3:30 P.M. Friends and family may visit from 2:30 P.M. until the time of service.
