Don Lee Schooler, 81 years old of Jamestown, IN, passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at Citrus Regional in Inverness, FL.
He was born November 21, 1933 in Hamilton County, IN, son of the late Harold and Mary (Wynkoop) Schooler.
Don was a farmer and owned and operated Schooler Grain for many years. He loved his dog Kassi. He wintered in Inverness, Florida for 20 years. He enjoyed flying planes, fishing, boating and RV camping.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Jane Schooler, sons, Chris (his wife, Sandra) Schooler of Jamestown and Tracy Schooler of South Carolina, sisters, Eileen Skaggs of Lebanon and Louise (her husband, Bill) Beck of Advance, grandchildren, Dustin (his wife, Jessica) Schooler of Jamestown, Mindy (her husband, Scott) Heller of Indianapolis, Brittney (her husband, Shawn) Baker of Virginia, Cacy Schooler of Nashville, TN, and Syreena Schooler of Lebanon, great-grandchildren, Austin and Raylyn Schooler, Sadie and Toby Heller, Gabrielle, Lachlan, Lincoln and Pippa Baker, step-sons, Jim Long and Ken Long, step-daughter, Angie Long, step-grandchildren, Curtis, Travis, Kira, Korbin, Dana, Steven and Haley, and step-great grandchild, Ella.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Alice Schooler, the mother of his children, son, Richie Schooler, brother-in-law, Larry Skaggs, step-son, Mike Long, grandson, Todd Schooler, step-grandchild, Tara and great-grandchild, Isaac Schooler.
Family and friends will gather Sunday, March 1, 2015, 2:00-6:00 p.m. at the Porter Funeral Home, Jamestown, Indiana. Services will be held at the funeral home, Monday, March 2, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Steve Vitaniemi officiating. Don will be laid to rest in the Old Union Cemetery, Jamestown, IN.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Jamestown Volunteer Fire Department, 450 W. Main Street, Jamestown, IN 46147.
