Obituary

Darlene Power, 84, of North Salem, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2019.

She was born March 24, 1935 in Birdseye, Indiana to Carl and Orpha (Sanders) Wright. Darlene
graduated from Owensville High School in 1954.

She pursued a career in nursing, graduating from St. Mary's School of Nursing in Evansville,
Indiana in 1957. She worked for over 30 years as a Registered Nurse at Indiana University
Hospitals, including Coleman, Long, and as Unit Director of Nursing in the Anesthesia
Department at University Hospital.

Darlene is survived by her brother Forest Wright, sister in-law Diane Wright, children Larry
Robling, Paula (John) Taylor, Teresa Kisner; grandchildren Thea (Doug) Akers, Tyler (Mackenzie)
Chambers, Nathan (Ericka) Taylor, Katy (Joel) Magrum; great-grandchildren; Liliana and
Cayden Chambers, Dougie Akers, and Kya Magrum. Darlene is also survived by Linda (Bob)
Boller and their children Annette and Rob who she also considered her grandchildren. She is survived by Stephane Smith, mother to Liliana and Cayden.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 29 years, Harold Power, and siblings;
Stanley Wright, Bernard Wright, Janice (Darrel) Davidson, Jo Ann (Larry) Lehmkuhler and great-granddaughter; Kieralyn Grace Chambers.

Darlene was a member of the North Salem United Methodist Church. She enjoyed fishing,
yard work, traveling, and spending time with family.

Family and friends will gather Saturday November 9th from 1:00-3:00 p.m. EST at Porter
Funeral Home in North Salem, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers, a contribution to the Alzheimer's Association in her name would be
appreciated.
