Charles J. Metzger 86 of Jamestown paessed away March 23,2006 in Indianapolis. He was born March 5,1920 in Indianapolis to the late Frank Metzger and the late Frances Durham Metzger. He was a graduate of Cathedral High School earning a football scholarship to Notre Dame. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Corp. the day after Pearl Harbor and served as a pilot in WWII flying 101 missions in a P-47 Thunderbolt. He was a member of the Roachdale V.F.W. and The John Birch Society. He was an excavation contractor & retired organic farmer. He had been a candidate for United States Representative in 1992. He was preceded in death by a son Mark. Surving are daughters, Amy Metzger Simmers of North Salem & Gail Metzger of Souderton,PA. sisters, Mary Jane Babcock & Louise Personette of Marion, a grandson Nicholas Metzger of Jamestown & a granddaughter Christina Metzger of Idaho & 2 great-grandchildren. Memorial Services will be Monday March 27 and 11:00am in the Porter Funeral Home in Jamestown with the eulogy by Gail Frances Metzger. Friends may visit March 26, Sunday from 3:00 until 6:00pm. Interment will be in the Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis
