Mr. Charles B. Freeman, 87, passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at Cumberland Trace Family-first Senior Living in Plainfield, Indiana. He was born on October 5, 1937, in Indianapolis, a son of the late Worth H. Freeman and Lucille L. (Sutherland) Freeman.
On February 16, 1957, he was married to Beverly "Kay" (McElhinney) Freeman in Bloomington. She preceded him in death on August 3, 2020.
Charles was a 1955 graduate of Bloomington University High School. After graduation, he served his country honorably in the United States Air Force from 1956 to 1960.
Charles was the owner of Freeman Remodeling after having worked for his brother Dale Freeman, doing kitchen remodels and installations for Sears. He also worked for Dana Corporation for 10 years and retired from there.
He was a devoted and active member of his church community throughout his life. Charles served as the worship and choir leader at First Baptist Church in Lizton. He was also a member of Countryside Community Church in Brownsburg and more recently, attended Immanuel Baptist Church in North Salem. Additionally, Charles was a member of Carpenters for Christ.
Survivors include his children; Peri Henry, Kipper Freeman, Nikki Clark and Kyle Freeman; 11 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; sister, Virginia Farley-Combs; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Charles was preceded in death by his daughter, Soni Griffith and siblings, Dale Freeman, Harold Freeman, and Mary Baker.

Memorials may be directed in his memory to the charity of the donor's choice.
