Catherine Marie Stewart, 83 years old of Greencastle, IN, passed away Monday, December 9, 2013 in Putnam County Hospital.

She was born October 26, 1930 in Hendricks County, IN, daughter of the late Oliver and Goldie (Highland) Finchum.

Catherine married Benjamin C Stewart on November 22, 1951 in North Salem, IN. He survives. Ben and Catherine were long time residents of North Salem.

She was a former member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, North Salem.

Surviving in addition to her husband are her daughter, Belinda Kay (Steve) Witt, son, Jeffrey Lynn (Penny) Stewart, grandchildren, Angie, Tammy, Amber, Crystal, Amanda, Melissa, Jeremy and Ethan, siblings, Marilyn, Don, Toot, Wendy, Larry, Trish and Dinie and18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by son, Douglas Cleo Stewart and siblings, Bud, Gloria Jean and Jim.

Family and friends will gather Wednesday, December 11, 2013, 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at the Porter Funeral Home, North Salem, Indiana. Services will follow at 1:00 p.m. Catherine will be laid to rest in the Fairview Cemetery, North Salem.
