Carlos Thompson, of New Ross, IN, met Jesus on his 86th birthday.

He was born March 1, 1924 in Somerset, KY, son of the late Joda Thompson and Bertha Dalton Thompson.

He married Myrtle Frederick on August 18, 1946. She preceded him in death in 2000. He married Anna C. Strube on June 15, 2002. She survives.

He was a member of New Bethel Fellowship. In earlier years he attended North Salem Church of God.

He served in the Army where he was a baker for 17 officers and General McArthur.

He was a wonderful musician and loved fishing and hunting.

He retired from Carrier in 1988.

Surviving are daughters, Brenda (Rick) Butler, Glenda (Hubert) Smith, Sandy (Gary) Trent, Jeannie (Mike) Carpenter, sons, Ivan (Doris) Thompson, Carl (Andrea) Thompson, Troy (Connie) Thompson, Alan (Corina) Thompson, Step-daughters, Linda (Bill) Reynolds, Tammie (Todd) Maretto, Terri (Scot) Bushong, Step-son, Mike (Beth) Strube, 23 grandchildren, 11 step-grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 10 step-great grandchildren, Sister, Hazel (Lowell) Rogers, Brother, Ellis Thompson, Half-sisters, Ina, Jane & Wanda.

He was preceded in death by 4 sisters & 2 brothers, 3 step-brothers & 2 step-sisters.

Friends will be received Thursday, March 4 1:00-8:00 p.m. at the Porter Funeral Home, Jamestown, Indiana.

Services will be held at Porter Funeral Home, Friday, March 5, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. with David & Brenda Deckard & Duane Bryant officiating.

Interment will follow in the Pisgah Cemetery, Crawfordsville, Indiana.
