Robert Doan, 80 of Avon, IN, passed away Monday, July 29, 2019 in Avon Health & Rehab.

He was born March 21, 1939 in Montezuma, IN, son of the late Glen and Mable (Cole) Doan. Bob married Esther Booker on September 17, 1966. She preceded him in death.

Bob served his country in the US Air Force as a jet aircraft mechanic. He was a member of Roachdale Christian Church, Past Master with the Roachdale Masonic Lodge 602, Scottish Rite, Murat Shrine. Bob enjoyed Indy Car racing and racing memorabilia. He worked for Allison Transmission, retiring after 35 years.

He is survived by his son, Lee Allen (Rachel) Doan, daughter, Dawn Michelle (Jon) Ellis, and grandchildren, Brittany Nicole Doan, Morgan Renee Ellis, and Rebecca Michelle Ellis.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Glen Ray Doan, Ivan Doan, and John Doan and sister, Janet Robbins.

A Graveside Service will be held Friday, August 2, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the Roachdale Cemetery, Roachdale, IN.
