Betty Jo (Robertson) Scott of Avon, passed away peacefully, November 8, 2020, with her daughters by her side.
Betty Jo was born November 9, 1931 to Frank and Mayme Robertson in Evansville. Her family moved to Indianapolis when she was a young child. Betty Jo graduated from Arsenal Tech High School in 1950. She worked at RCA for a few years.
Betty Jo married Samuel Lee Scott of Lizton, July 1, 1951 at the Garfield Baptist Church. Betty Jo and Lee resided in Lizton until 2017 when they moved to assisted living at the Villages of Avon.
Betty Jo loved working in the many flower beds she planted in her yard. She also enjoyed canning all the fruits and vegetables from their large garden and sharing with family and friends. Most important to Betty Jo was her family. She attended numerous sporting events of her granddaughters and even some of the great grandkids.
Betty Jo is survived by her two daughters, Brenda Zwilling of Danville and Karen (Dick) Stafford of Clayton. She has five granddaughters, Jamie (Ben) Neal, and daughter Kinzlee of Carlsbad, California, Jenny (Dave) Wire and children Laura and Carson of Pittsboro, Michelle (Phil) Anderson and children Lucas and Makayla of Plainfield, Amanda (Giss) Sawyer and children Ava, Ian, and Isaac Gabbard, Landyn, Layla and Giss Sawyer of Plainfield, and Beverley Stafford of Avon and her children Chelsea (Landon) Coleman, Ben (Cassie), Austin, and Haley (Taylor) Bowser.
Betty Jo is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Lee of over 67 years, and two brothers Jack and Jerry Robertson.
She was loved by all and will be truly missed.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, November 11 th from 11 A.M. – 1 P.M. at Porter & St. Pierre Funeral & Cremation Services, Jamestown Chapel, 315 West Main Street, Jamestown. A funeral service will begin following visitation. Burial will follow in Lizton K of P Cemetery.
Due to CDC recommendations, face coverings must be worn during the visitation and funeral service.
