Betty Jean Hoskins, 83 years old of Danville, IN, died Saturday, July 17, 2010 in Avon Health and Rehab Center.

She was born April 2, 1927 in Ladoga, IN, daughter of the late Elmer and Nina Mae Spencer Merchant.

She married Donald Gene Davidson. He passed away in 1981. She later married Lester Hoskins. He preceded her in death in 1996.

She attended Harvestime Fellowship Church and was a former member of North Salem Legion Auxillary Kurtz-Booker Post.

She worked in the restaurant in North Salem, sold Avon and was a clerk at the Ben Franklin store. She retired from the Post Office as a postal carrier.

Surviving are son, Robert (Sue) Davidson, granddaughter, Molly Jo (Brett) Hart, great-grandchildren, Riley Jo Hart, and Gannon Hart, sisters, Marylin (Bill) Sandusky, and Sue (Max) Todd, and brother, William "Bud" Merchant.

Friends will be received Tuesday, July 20, 3:00-8:00 p.m. at the North Salem Community Building.

Services will be held at Porter Funeral Home, North Salem, Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Art Thomas officiating.

Interment will follow in the Jamestown I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Jamestown, Indiana.
